CELEBRATING THE GREAT BRITISH ASPARAGUS SEASON

CHEF CARL SAYS:

The catering industry makes such a big spectacle of seasonality especially when asparagus season hits.
That’s because it’s crucial to consume these sweet, nutty little spears as soon after harvesting as possible as they lose their nutrients much more rapidly than other vegetables and fruit so to benefit from the rich array of nutrients such as fibre, vitamins B,C, D, E, K & antioxidants.


The British season for asparagus is short only 6-8 weeks usually
but the warm weather this year has brought the harvest early.

We have created a menu to emphasise this great produce,
kept it simple so to let the Asparagus speak for itself

All the asparagus featured on this menu have been grown and hand-picked at Simpers of Suffolk farm on the banks of the river Deben.
