Nonnas barista is voted amongst best in England

If the coffee is tasting even better than normal at Nonnas there’s a reason…

Coffee maestro Lucia Gadau has beaten thousands of rivals across the country to be voted one of the best baristas in England!

Exquisite coffee has been on offer since Nonnas first opened twenty years ago in 1996 but no one has more passion for it than Lucia Gadau.

Maurizio Mori, Nonnas proprietor, said: “I’ve never met anyone that works harder or cares more passionately about the coffee served to customers than Lucia. No one deserves this accolade more than her.”

The barista’s unrivalled passion and expertise comes direct from her home in Sardinia, Italy, where she first honed her craft.

Lucia and her husband built a thriving coffee bar/patisserie in Sardinia before being forced out of business because the landlord wouldn’t renew their lease.

Thankfully she soon found her coffee making skills was in demand in other parts of Europe and she ended working in Switzerland.

But it was Sheffield she found her calling and she started working in Nonnas in 2013.

Lucia Gadau said: “I find there’s nothing more satisfying than a customer that’s happy with my coffee and my service!

“I’m humbled that customers have voted my skills so highly. It’s wonderful!”

Lucia Gadau has been shortlisted for the position of Best Barista in England.

The winner will be announced at the English Italian Awards on September 18th at Manchester’s glitzy Palace Hotel.
