‘Cantini’ unveiling tops off record breaking year for Nonnas

The Lord Mayor of Sheffield, Councillor Talib Hussain, performed the official opening of the brand new ‘cantina’ restaurant at Nonnas Sheffield.

The city’s first citizen also viewed the brand new wine list.

The unveiling tops off a record breaking year for the venue that celebrates its 20th anniversary next year.

Nonnas Sheffield was recently voted Best Italian Business in England, enjoyed a visit from Hollywood ‘A’ lister Sylvester Stallone and had its very own Lucia Gadau voted one of the best barista’s in the country.

The breathtaking artwork in the new ‘cantina’ restaurant has been done by celebrated Sheffield artist Paul Staveley.

Nonnas Sheffield proprietor Maurizio Mori said: “We’ve had a fantastic reaction to our new ‘cantina’ restaurant and it was real honour that the Lord Mayor of Sheffield agreed to do the official unveiling.

“This tops off a fantastic year for Nonnas and we’re looking forward to our 20th anniversary celebrations in 2016.”

The new wine list is the result of months of research, trips back to Italy and feedback from customers.

We hope you’ll agree we’ve come up with the most comprehensive list in our history.

But you surely wouldn’t expect anything else from somewhere that holds an AA Notable Wine List Award.

We’ve tried to include wines from every corner of Italy and suit every palate and pocket.

Many wines are handpicked from small local producers by Nonnas Sheffield proprieter Maurizio Mori who has just returned from his latest trip – a fact finding mission to Puglia.

We are also proud to have a section on super Tuscan reds and bio-organic wines.
