Over the years Nonnas has had the privilege of employing some truly exemplary staff. 

They’ve captured the very essence of our brand and have regularly gone above and beyond the call of duty.

So we’ve now rewarding outstanding service on a regular basis with our Nonnas Employee of the Month Award.

Jonil is our September winner from the kitchen side of the business.

Originally from Albania, he originally arrived in Sheffield with his family in 2000 and moved into Park Hill.

Jonil did his catering training at Castle College and has held positions in some of the city’s most renowned restaurants.

He was head chef at Silversmiths and has also spent time at Kito’s and Fulwood Inn.

He has worked his way through the ranks at Nonnas and first started here as a potwasher.

Jonil is renowned for his hard work and attention to detail.

And don’t be surprised if you see him at Cubana – he does the odd shift as a chef down there alongside his brother Erkland who is head chef.
