Over the years Nonnas has had the privilege of employing some truly exemplary staff.
They’ve captured the very essence of our brand and regularly gone above and beyond the call of duty.
March 2019’s Nonnas Employee of the Month Award winner receives her accolade with a tinge of sadness – she’s just about to leave us after 5 years of exemplary service.
Vanessa Patera always seemed destined to work at Nonnas when she arrived in Sheffield from Italy – she was originally living in one of our apartments upstairs!
Originally born in Germany – her family lives in Southern Italy where she grew up.
When she first arrived in Sheffield she spent time working at BBs on Devonshire Street and in the Moor Market.
She has become a popular and familiar face behind the coffee bar at Nonnas. In fact she calls it “a second home”.
These days she lives in the city centre but you’ll still regular find her at Nonnas – even on her days off!
And what will she miss most about Nonnas? “It’s like a family here – there’s nothing like it”.
